A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.
2 70 miles radius rule Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients. Assess and evaluate patients with illnesses, injuries, and other healthcare needs. Administer medications and treatments as ordered. Assist healthcare providers with examinations and treatment. Respond to medical emergencies and perform appropriate emergency procedures. Conduct patient monitoring and document observations accurately. Maintain complete, accurate, and confidential medical records. Provide health education and counseling as needed. Supervise and support nursing and non-licensed medical staff when applicable. Coordinate with healthcare providers and facility staff regarding patient care. Monitor inpatient hospitalizations and assist with continuity of care. Follow applicable nursing, pharmacy, safety, security, and correctional healthcare policies. Inspect and maintain the medical unit and ensure supplies and equipment are properly secured. Participate in audits, reporting, accreditation activities, and other operational requirements. Requirements Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a degree or diploma in Nursing. Current and unrestricted RN license in the state of Tennessee. BLS Certification required. Minimum one year of professional nursing experience required. English proficiency required, including reading, writing, and speaking. Additional Information 36 hours per week guaranteed Night schedule, typically 3 x 12-hour shifts Candidates should maintain open availability based on scheduling needs. Fingerprinting will be completed on the first day. Eligible for guaranteed hours while clearance is pending, according to assignment requirements. #
