1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Stepdown Neuro RN for a night shift assignment requiring a TX or compact RN license and ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications. Details Neuro PCU/Stepdown unit setting Patient ratio of 1:4 at night, occasionally 1:5 Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (18:45-7:15) Divisional floating required, including overflow and ED holds Must be able to work 2-3 holidays including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day Requirements Active TX or compact RN license required Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required CPI certification preferred Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Prior travel nursing experience required Epic charting experience strongly preferred Skills in cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team utilization Experience with IV therapy, central/PICC/peripheral line care, and blood product administration Experience managing neurological conditions including CVA, intracranial bleeds, seizure disorders, and TBI Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and HFNC Skills checklist and two supervisor references from within the last 3 years required for consideration Additional Information Provide stepdown-level nursing care to neurological patients including CVA, intracranial bleeds, seizure disorders, and traumatic brain injury cases Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration responsibilities Perform wound care and manage IV insulin protocols Facility conducts its own onsite drug screen including marijuana testing, and a positive result results in automatic cancellation Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted Modules are completed during orientation, averaging 2-3 hours, and are non-billable if completed within the first 16 hours
