Registered Nurse - Resource Pool The Resource Pool at Sentara Obici is hospital specific and includes floating to units with additional need due to either acuity or staffing. Primarily assigned to IMCU or Medical/Surgical units, this unit offers training and precepting on the ICU and ED for Registered Nurses (RN) who wish to move into these more critical care areas or placement into these critical care areas if experienced. This Central Float Pool is ideal for those who enjoy variety or are interested in learning new skills. Due to the advanced level of practice, 2 years of acute care nursing experience is preferred. New Grad RN Candidates with a background in hospital based acute care may also be considered. Job Summary Provides safe, high-quality patient care using the nursing process. Applies professional standards in ethics, collaboration, leadership, and evidence-based practice. Uses clinical knowledge and skills to meet the needs of their specific unit. Education Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing Program Students in the process of completing a registered nursing program with previous experience in acute care clinical roles may be considered BSN or MSN preferred Certification/Licensure Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License with previous experience in acute care clinical roles may be considered BLS within 90 days of hire ACLS within 1 year of hire (Required) Experience 2 years of acute care experience (preferred) Critical care experience (preferred) Medical Surgical experience (preferred) Previous healthcare experience (preferred) New Grad Registered Nurse 6-month Transition to Practice Programs at
