Accurately calculate and secure patient financial liabilities (copayments, coinsurance, deductibles) while delivering empathetic, efficient customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities Complete 20 to 35 patient registrations or pre-registrations per 8-hour shift, depending on department flow (Emergency, Outpatient, Admitting, or OB). Verify insurance eligibility, explain out-of-pocket costs to patients, and secure upfront collections or set up payment plans. Screen uninsured or self-pay patients for presumptive eligibility and uncompensated care programs. Maintain 95%+ accuracy in demographic data entry, Medicare secondary payer forms, and consent signature collection. Safeguard protected health information (PHI) with stringent adherence to all federal HIPAA laws. Schedule medical procedures and manage patient check-in workflows seamlessly across multiple internal software systems.

Requirements & Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.Experience:
1+ year in a high-volume hospital, medical office, or medical billing setting required.Technical Skills:
Typing speed of 45+ WPM; proficiency in navigating multiple computer screens, Word, and Excel.Industry Knowledge:
Comprehensive understanding of medical insurance and billing processes required. Medical terminology strongly preferred.Communication:
Exceptional customer service and de-escalation skills. bilingual (Spanish or Mandarin) is highly preferred.Mobility:
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to off-site outpatient locations.salary:
