We are seeking a dedicated Patient Registration Representative to join our dynamic team in Whittier, CA! In this essential on-site position, you will be the welcoming face and voice of our facility—guiding patients smoothly through the registration process, verifying insurance eligibility, and collecting copayments with empathy and care. Working a predictable Monday through Friday daytime schedule (8:30 AM to 5:00 PM) with some weekend flexibility, you will play a key role in ensuring patients secure timely access to healthcare. You will manage outpatient and inpatient account setups, pre-register scheduled procedures, navigate financial assistance programs, and partner closely with clinical and business teams. Perform patient registration and pre-registration duties, verify insurance eligibility, calculate patient financial liability, and collect upfront copayments while delivering outstanding customer service.Key Responsibilities:
Register inpatient and outpatient accounts accurately, securing all demographic and insurance details. Pre-register scheduled patients, prepare estimates, and collect copays or deductibles. Assist self-pay patients with financial assistance applications and hospital presumptive eligibility screening. Verify insurance coverage, scan medical documentation, and maintain strict HIPAA compliance.Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required. 1+ years of experience in a high-volume healthcare facility, hospital, or medical office setting. Proven insurance verification and billing knowledge; medical terminology preferred. strong computer proficiency and typing skills (45+ WPM required). Valid Driver's License for potential travel to off-site outpatient locations.Preferred:
bilingual in Spanish or Mandarin.
