Overview As Pineville Community Health Center continues to grow, we are seeking a dedicated ER & Outpatient Registrar to join our team. This important position serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional patient experience. The Registrar is responsible for accurately collecting, verifying, and entering patient demographic, insurance, and financial information while creating complete and compliant patient records. By ensuring registration information is accurate from the start, this role supports quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and timely reimbursement for services provided. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and committed to excellence in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and empathy, providing exceptional front desk customer service. Collect, review, and verify patient information, including insurance details, medical history, and demographic data using electronic health record (EHR). Register patients accurately by entering data into electronic health records (EHR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, including insurance authorizations, care plans, and medical records. Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate patient flow, scheduling appointments, and updating patient status in hospital or clinic management systems. Handle phone communication professionally, providing clear information regarding registration procedures or directing calls to appropriate departments. Requirements Proven experience in medical administrative support or front desk roles within healthcare settings such as clinics or hospitals. Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with electronic health records management is essential. Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for documentation and reporting purposes. Ability to communicate effectively in bilingual settings is a plus; previous clinic or hospital experience is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and accurate data entry. Exceptional customer service skills combined with phone etiquette and professional demeanor in high-pressure environments. Experience working with EMR systems like Epic or Meditech along with familiarity in medical terminology related to clinical confidentiality policies is preferred. Prior experience in dental clinics or hospital settings enhances your ability to adapt quickly to diverse healthcare workflows. Willing to work 12-hour shifts including weekends and holidays.
