Position Summary The Patient Representative is responsible for processing patient billing statements, collecting payments, and assisting patients with questions related to their accounts. This role helps ensure accurate financial communication, timely account resolution, and excellent customer service while supporting the financial operations of the organization.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in hospital billing, medical billing, or a healthcare-related setting preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Strong communication and customer service skills. Basic computer proficiency and data entry skills required. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to follow department policies, procedures, and performance standards. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Emotional maturity and the ability to function effectively under stress.

Key Responsibilities:

Process and distribute patient billing statements accurately and timely. Collect patient payments and properly document account activity. Research and resolve patient account discrepancies and billing concerns. Assist patients with questions regarding balances, payments, insurance, and billing information. Maintain accurate patient account records and documentation. Work closely with insurance companies, patients, and internal departments to resolve account issues. Ensure compliance with all privacy, regulatory, and organizational policies. Provide professional and courteous customer service in all patient interactions. Perform additional duties as assigned.
