About the
Role:
Iron County Medical Center has an opening for a Full time Registration Clerk within its Rural Health Clinic . The candidate filling this position will be required to participate in all areas of clinic operations and patient care, assuring safety, efficiency, and patient confidentiality of PHI. The position will function under the direction of the RHC Practice Manager.
Responsibilities:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to , the following: Prepares medical records for new patients and updates records on an on-going basis; files forms; ensures that all documentation meets standards and established policies. Registers and discharges patients; answers telephone in a polite and friendly manner; schedules patient appointments, patient transportation, patient diagnostic and laboratory testing effectively and efficiently; obtains patient results, previous medical information, and referral authorizations and enters all information into the computer system accurately and timely.
Skills and Abilities:
Required Education and Skills :
Preference will be given to candidates that have proven experience and training in a clinical office position and that have performed registration duties Must be able to read, write, and verbally respond effectively Must have a working knowledge of various computer programs as related to a medical office, included EMR, and be willing to train on new programs Effective organization skills Ability to multi-task with a sense of urgency Good customer and interpersonal communication skills with ability to demonstrate respect and to maintain composure with confidence Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and be able to perform requirements of job with or without reasonable accommodation.
