Front Office / Patient Services Position Summary We are seeking a professional, friendly, and dependable Front Desk Receptionist to join our medical office team. The front desk is the first point of contact for our patients, so the ideal candidate must provide excellent customer service while efficiently managing phones, scheduling, check-in/check-out, and administrative responsibilities. Responsibilities- Greet patients in a warm, professional, and courteous manner.
- Answer and appropriately direct incoming telephone calls.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.
- Check patients in and out accurately and efficiently.
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information.
- Collect copays, deductibles, and other patient balances.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update information as needed.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, clinical staff, and other office personnel.
- Assist patients with questions and concerns and direct clinical questions to the appropriate staff.
- Obtain and process referrals, authorizations, and medical records when required.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Keep the front desk and waiting area organized and professional.
- Assist with administrative duties and other tasks as needed.
- Participate in answering phones and supporting the front desk team during busy periods.
- Work cooperatively with all members of the office to ensure smooth daily operations. Qualifications
- Previous medical office or healthcare front-desk experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
- Professional, pleasant, and compassionate demeanor.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Dependable, punctual, and accountable.
- Comfortable working in a busy medical office environment.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures is a plus.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information appropriately.
