Job Description
We are seeking a customer-focused Patient Service Representative to support a busy medical practice. This role is responsible for patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, authorizations, and delivering an exceptional patient experience. This position will start immediately and has the potential to become a permanent opportunity for the right candidate. Experience using EPIC is highly preferred. Responsibilities Answer patient calls and schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments.
Manage patient check-in/check-out, including collecting copays, insurance information, referrals, and required documentation.
Verify demographics, insurance eligibility, benefits, and obtain prior authorizations.
Update patient records accurately within the EMR system.
Communicate wait times and patient flow updates.
Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
Provide outstanding customer service and resolve patient concerns professionally. Qualifications Previous medical office, patient scheduling, registration, or healthcare customer service experience preferred.
Experience with insurance verification, referrals, and authorizations strongly preferred.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems.
Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills. Schedule One late shift per week: 12:00 PM
- 8:30 PM Three additional shifts between 7:45 AM
- 5:30 PM Rotating Saturday coverage every 4 weeks: 8:00 AM
- 12:00 PM Adjusted weekday hours during Saturday rotation to maintain a 40-hour workweek.

9:00 AM- 5:30 PM

- Prior experience in a medical office, healthcare front desk, patient access, or customer service setting is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of appointment scheduling, patient registration, and general administrative support in a clinical environment.
- Experience verifying insurance coverage, processing referrals, and obtaining authorizations is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems is required, and experience with Epic or similar platforms is highly valued.
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients, staff, and providers while managing multiple tasks in a busy setting.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling patient demographics, documentation, and benefit-related information.
- Understanding of patient confidentiality expectations and healthcare compliance standards, including HIPAA, is preferred.
