License Dental Assistant (LDA) Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) Pine Lakes Endodontics is actively recruiting a Patient Care Coordinator to join our quality-centered Endodontic practice. Licensed Dental Assistants are encouraged to apply. We are a newer practice, established in Jan 2022, but not new to the Brainerd Lakes Area. Over the past 10 years we've developed strong ties to the community and the wonderful dental practices and patients who live here. We are looking to add talent, such as yourself, to our dynamic team! Job Summary:
The Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) represents the practice in all facets of patient services, which includes greeting patients, checking-in patients, checking-out patients, answering the telephone, scheduling appointments, maintaining accurate patient records, accurate patient ledger, and coordinating patient flow.
Responsibilities:
Greets patients and visitors entering the practice. Answers telephone, communicates information, and takes messages in accordance to the phone script. Schedules patient appointments. Establishes, registers and maintains patient chart to ensure it is accurate and up-to-date, to include patient demographic information, address, phone number, treatment plans, pre-treatment estimates, and insurance & billing information. Performs necessary duties associated with checking patients in and out for their schedule appointment time. Confirms accurate treatment codes, insurance and patient fees have been researched and recorded on the patients treatment plan. Calls patients prior to appointment to confirm their scheduled appointment time, review insurance benefits, fees due, location, and required documentation. Documents appointment confirmation in patients chart. Monitors the schedule, adjusts the schedule as necessary, and reschedules patients as needed to ensure the maximum daily schedule has been reached. Keeps staff and doctors informed of scheduling issues or concerns. Processes incoming referral emails. Confirms all required information is documented on referral form and an x-ray has been received. Calls new referral patients once referral and x-rays have been reviewed and treatment type has been determined. Performs end of end of day audit of treatment plan and payments to ensure accurate posting to the patient ledger. Keeps the front desk and reception areas clean and presentable. Performs weekly office cleaning in coordination with LDA's. Uses computer or fax to transmit information or documents as needed. Adheres to OSHA and HIPAA regulations. Duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of English composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Skilled in the use of standard office equipment including: telephones, calculators, copiers, fax, computers, and computer software (MS Excel, Word, Practice Management software). Knowledge of dental office business operations and insurance processing a plus. Ability to maintain composure and professionalism when exposed to stressful situations. Ability to engender trust from the doctors, co-workers, and patients. Ability to work cooperatively with management, staff, and patients. Proficient in using conflict resolution and problem-solving techniques to manage conflict and patient complaints in a professional manner. Ability to prioritize, organize, and complete tasks in a timely and independent manner. Ability to accept constructive feedback. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, to collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and maintain confidentiality. Ability to communicate and express thoughts and ideas competently. Ability to quickly grasp relevant concepts regarding duties and responsibilities. Education /
Experience:
2-year degree from a college or technical school Minimum of one year of related experience and/or training Experience is necessary whether it be dental, reception, and or billing
Schedule:
Our office hours are Mon to Thur 7-4:30, with availability Fridays (remote) 8:00am to Noon. Hours may vary. (27 to 36 hours per week). Interested? We'd love to hear from you! Please submit resume, cover letter and salary requirements. Wage will be determined based on experience and education.
