With 26 clinics, 3 surgery centers, and over 675 employees, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and service. We are seeking a highly motivated Front Desk / Insurance Verification & Scheduling Representative to join our team in The Woodlands. This role combines front-office reception duties, patient scheduling, insurance verification, and call center responsibilities to ensure a seamless patient experience. Position Summary Responsible for providing exceptional customer service while managing patient access functions, including appointment scheduling, inbound calls, patient registration, and medical and vision insurance verification. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities Answer high-volume inbound calls and assist patients with scheduling, rescheduling, and appointment inquiries Perform patient registration, check-in, and check-out procedures Verify and document medical and vision insurance eligibility, benefits, referrals, and authorization requirements Accurately collect and update patient demographic and insurance information Educate patients regarding insurance coverage, co-pays, deductibles, and financial responsibilities Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic medical record (EMR) system Provide exceptional customer service while resolving patient questions and concerns Support front office operations and collaborate with clinical and administrative teams Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical front desk, patient access, insurance verification, or healthcare call center role Experience verifying both medical and vision insurance plans Strong knowledge of insurance eligibility, benefits, referrals, and prior authorization processes Experience with appointment scheduling and high-volume inbound calls Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask efficiently Ophthalmology, optometry, or vision care experience preferred Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred Why Berkeley Eye Center?
