Job Description

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a compassionate Staff Nurse II to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this direct patient care role, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a diverse patient population across inpatient and ambulatory settings. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, use evidence-based practice, and support quality, safety, and patient experience initiatives. Responsibilities include medication administration, patient education, care coordination, and accurate documentation in the EHR. You will precept new staff, participate in process improvements, and uphold regulatory and infection-control standards. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, and ongoing evaluation Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately Document care and outcomes in the EHR in accordance with policies and regulations Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and discharge plans Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members Precept and mentor new nurses and support staff as needed Participate in quality improvement, safety, and evidence-based practice initiatives Maintain compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and infection-control standards Respond to changes in patient condition and emergencies using appropriate protocols Contribute positively to a collaborative and patient-centered team environment Required Skills Patient assessment Care planning and care coordination Medication administration and safety Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation (e.g., Epic) IV therapy and venipuncture Wound care and dressing changes Telemetry and vital sign monitoring Patient and family education Infection prevention and control Emergency response and basic triage
