Job Description

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for our critical care team. In this role, you will assess, plan, and deliver advanced respiratory care to acutely ill patients, including ventilator management, oxygen therapy, and emergency airway support. You will collaborate closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary team, interpret diagnostic tests, and adjust treatment plans to optimize outcomes. The therapist will follow evidence based protocols, maintain accurate documentation, ensure equipment safety, and educate patients and families while contributing to a culture of compassion, teamwork, and continuous learning. Responsibilities Provide advanced respiratory care to critical care patients, including ventilator and airway management Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized respiratory treatment plans Perform and interpret respiratory diagnostics such as ABGs and pulmonary function tests Respond to respiratory emergencies, including code blue and rapid response situations Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, therapies, and equipment Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and adhere to regulatory standards Ensure proper operation, calibration, and infection control of respiratory equipment Follow evidence-based protocols and contribute to quality and safety initiatives Participate in ongoing professional development and competency training Required Skills Mechanical ventilation management Advanced airway management Arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation Pulmonary function testing Respiratory equipment operation and troubleshooting Oxygen and aerosol therapy Non-invasive ventilation (Bi
