Role:
As a Respiratory Therapist (RRT), you will play a critical role in assessing, treating, and caring for patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes by providing therapeutic interventions, managing ventilators, and educating patients and their families on respiratory care. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. This role requires a strong commitment to patient safety, adherence to clinical protocols, and the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations. Ultimately, your work will contribute to improving the quality of life for patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions across diverse healthcare settings in the United States.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current and valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). State licensure to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the United States. Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program with an associate's or bachelor's degree. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification. Demonstrated clinical experience in respiratory care, preferably in acute care or hospital settings.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related healthcare field. Experience with neonatal and pediatric respiratory care. Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and respiratory care documentation software. Strong background in pulmonary rehabilitation and chronic disease management.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate patients' respiratory status through physical assessments and diagnostic tests to determine appropriate treatment plans. Administer respiratory therapies including oxygen, aerosol medications, and mechanical ventilation support as prescribed. Monitor and adjust ventilator settings to optimize patient breathing and comfort while preventing complications. Provide education and training to patients and their families on managing respiratory conditions and using prescribed equipment. Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate care and ensure compliance with established protocols and safety standards. Respond promptly to respiratory emergencies, including cardiac arrests and airway obstructions, providing life-saving interventions. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records documenting treatments, progress, and any changes in condition. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay current with advances in respiratory care techniques and technology.

Preferred skills such as pediatric care expertise and familiarity with EMR systems enhance your ability to provide specialized care and maintain accurate documentation, contributing to overall healthcare quality and efficiency. Successful completion of a pre-employment background and reference check by an outside agency engaged by the company to conduct background checking, the results of which must meet our employment requirements. Depending on your assigned duties, work location, facility access, and applicable Florida requirements, you may also be required to complete an Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Level 2 background screening is required you must maintain eligibility throughout your assignment.
