Responsibilities Assess, plan, and deliver respiratory care treatments for acute and chronically ill patients. Set up, manage, and monitor mechanical ventilators and non-invasive ventilation. Obtain and interpret arterial blood gases and adjust therapy per protocols. Respond to codes and respiratory emergencies, providing airway management and support. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams on care plans. Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies, equipment use, and disease management. Perform and document respiratory assessments and interventions in the EMR accurately and timely. Maintain, troubleshoot, and ensure proper infection control for respiratory equipment. Follow hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Participate in continuing education, competencies, and quality improvement initiatives.
