Perform diagnostic procedures such as arterial blood gas sampling, pulmonary function tests, and oximetry. Initiate, adjust, and monitor mechanical ventilation and non-invasive ventilation therapies. Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, chest physiotherapy, and airway clearance techniques. Respond to respiratory emergencies, including rapid response and code blue situations. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and update patient care plans. Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, equipment use, and home care strategies. Ensure accurate documentation of assessments, treatments, and patient responses in the electronic medical record. Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment, ensuring safety and infection control standards. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional education within the department.
