Job Description

Powerback Rehabilitation is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to deliver high-quality respiratory care across post-acute, outpatient, and home-based settings. In this patient-centered, clinically driven environment, you will assess respiratory status, administer treatments, manage oxygen therapy, and support ventilatory care while helping patients regain function and independence. Working within an interdisciplinary rehab team, you will contribute to outcome-driven care plans, provide patient and family education, and maintain accurate clinical documentation. Responsibilities Assess, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory conditions in post-acute and outpatient settings Administer and manage oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and respiratory interventions per physician orders Perform and interpret basic pulmonary function and bedside respiratory assessments Set up, operate, and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment and devices Collaborate with an interdisciplinary rehab team to develop and adjust patient care plans Educate patients and families on respiratory care techniques, equipment use, and self-management Document assessments, treatments, and patient progress in the medical record accurately and timely Support safe transitions of care across rehab, home-based, and senior living settings Adhere to infection control, safety standards, and regulatory requirements Participate in ongoing clinical training and quality improvement initiatives Required Skills Respiratory assessment Oxygen therapy management Ventilator support basics Aerosol and nebulizer therapy Airway clearance techniques Pulmonary function testing (basic) Arterial blood gas interpretation Respiratory equipment setup and troubleshooting Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation Patient and family respiratory education
