Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) near Alexander City, AL. Your expertise in communication disorders will empower children to reach their full potential in a collaborative school environment, working with diverse learners and supportive educators.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in the state Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA Previous school-based SLP experience or strong interest in educational settings Knowledge of IEP process, progress monitoring, and evidence-based interventions Excellent communication and collaboration abilities Adaptability and empathy when working with students, families, and staff
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and hearing assessments Develop individualized treatment plans and goals for students on your caseload Provide direct therapy in both individual and small group settings Participate in IEP meetings to share insights, recommendations, and progress updates Consult with teachers and other school professionals to integrate communication strategies across learning environments Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations Foster a supportive and engaging therapy space for students of varying backgrounds and abilities
