Essential Elements:
Print Speech/Language Pathologist Special Education / District Education CenterPOSITION SUMMARY
This is a full-time (100%), regular position. The Speech/Language Pathologist assists the Director of Special Education in conducting speech, language and hearing screenings, administering formal and informal assessments, recommending speech and language services, presenting to the individual educational plan (IEP) team, participating in placement and follow-up of decisions and development of an appropriate IEP, consulting with general education staff and parents in regard to the development of effective programs, seeking assistance from colleagues, parents and other appropriate school staff to meet the communication needs of students, reevaluating students to determine appropriateness of continued placement, remediation strategy and to help in determination of on-going eligibility, and utilizing evidence-based interventions and therapy appropriate for both individual students and groups.QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor's Degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Disorders, and a valid California Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential (Clinical or Rehabilitative Services) is required. A valid California Driver's License, and be willing to travel throughout the District. Ability to utilize leadership, advocacy and collaboration in providing assessment and remediation services for students who exhibit difficulties in the areas of language, speech, voice and fluency.Preferred:
A Master's Degree, 2 years of successful special education experience in several venues across grade level settings, and knowledge of SEIS system and IEP case management.SALARY:
