Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Position Description Per diem, primarily weekends, minimum two per month, minimal holidays with potential for weekday coverage. The Speech Language Pathologist independently evaluates patient's level of function and determines, develops, and implements individualized treatment goals and plans in alignment with the patient/caregiver goals. Determines treatment strategies and delivers Speech Language Therapy services that identify, restore, and rehabilitate disorders of communication, cognition and swallowing to maximize a patient's safety and independence. This role encompasses evaluation skills and techniques, analysis of patients, and application of speech therapy to maximize the patient's functional independence. Qualifications Acute care experience preferred. MBS experience a plus. Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college/university. State of Connecticut License in Speech/Language Pathology. Certificate of Clinical Competence may be required depending on site. We take great care of careers.
