A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity serving elementary students in a supportive educational environment. This full-time role involves working onsite across two school locations, totaling 35 hours per week. If you are a passionate Speech Language Pathologist with school-based experience, there are two immediate openings available. Candidates with a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) are especially encouraged to apply, but those completing a Clinical Fellowship (CF) with supervision provided are also welcomed, pending district supervision availability.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required Active license to practice in Connecticut Prior school-based SLP experience is necessary Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred; will also consider CF applicants with appropriate supervision Ability to obtain successful district fingerprints and pass required background checks Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred Flexibility to serve across multiple school sites as needed

SLPA candidates are not eligible for this position

Responsibilities:

Provide direct speech-language therapy to elementary school students on assigned caseloads Conduct screenings, assessments, and track student progress Develop and implement individualized intervention plans in collaboration with other educational professionals Attend IEP meetings and maintain thorough documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines Communicate effectively with teachers, families, and team members Travel between two school sites within the district as part of weekly schedule Onsite interviews will be conducted via Zoom for candidate convenience.
