Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity where your expertise as a Speech Language Pathologist will directly impact students' lives in diverse K-12 school settings. Two immediate openings are available, and candidates may serve communities in or near Grand Blanc, Lansing, and Detroit. Assignments begin as soon as possible and extend through June 2027. Ideal applicants hold an active Michigan SLP license (temporary for CFYs accepted) and are eager to work onsite—though highly experienced teletherapy professionals may be considered. You're passionate about supporting urban youth and customizing resources for their families, ready to discuss these topics with potential schools.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Valid Michigan Speech Language Pathology license; CFYs must have a temporary MI license. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred; Clinical Fellows welcome with established supervision. Previous experience in school settings serving K-12 is highly regarded. Official university transcripts (must be submitted before presentation to the district). Strong communication, individual and group therapy skills, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Thoughtful understanding of urban education environments and culturally responsive interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive speech and language therapy to students in K-12, including assessments, IEP development, and progress reporting. Collaborate with teachers, families, and other specialists to support students' learning and communication needs. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute insights for holistic student support. Offer guidance and resources for students and their families, particularly addressing challenges in urban education.
