A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting students' communication and academic growth in a dynamic educational setting. Licensed Speech-Language Pathologists passionate about working with school-age populations are invited to explore contract opportunities offering both full-year and leave assignments. Openings include full-time positions serving elementary and secondary students throughout the academic year, as well as temporary leave coverage for maternity absences. Enjoy variety and the chance to collaborate closely with welcoming multidisciplinary school teams.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Valid ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or eligibility as a Clinical Fellow (CFY) Current licensure or eligibility for licensure required for school-based practice Experience working with diverse K-12 student populations preferred Strong assessment, intervention, and progress monitoring skills Confident communicator committed to fostering student success Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment

Responsibilities:

Assess, diagnose, and deliver comprehensive speech-language therapy for students with a range of communication needs Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and measurable goals Document student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP team meetings Consult with teachers, families, and school staff to support generalization of communication skills across the curriculum Provide both direct and consultative services as needed, adapting interventions for various age groups and caseloads
