A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic role supporting students' communication development in a vibrant educational environment. This contract opportunity focuses on providing Speech-Language Pathology services across two elementary school campuses, with assignments divided between grades 4-5 at one location and grades 1-3 at another. Flexibility is built into this position, as both full-time and part-time candidates are welcome to apply.

Key Qualifications:

Current Speech-Language Pathology license (SLP) in Michigan Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) required Experience providing therapy services to elementary-aged students preferred Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities Flexibility to adapt to different grade levels and campus settings Passion for supporting student learning and growth

Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments Develop individualized treatment plans and IEP goals for assigned students Deliver direct therapy services aligned with educational best practices Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to maximize student outcomes Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with school policies and state guidelines Participate in IEP meetings, student support team conferences, and professional development sessions Travel between assigned campuses as needed
