Full Job Description Description:
Responsibilities:
Conducting speech and language screening once a year for all kindergarten students and all students not previously enrolled in school. Participating on evaluation teams for speech, language, and hearing impaired students as appropriate. Providing speech and/or hearing screening tests for all students referred by the IAT Team. Providing diagnostic/evaluation testing for students failing speech screening. Development and implementation of IEP's. Making available to teachers' instructional ideas that are appropriate for exceptional students within the classroom situation. Ensuring that each student in the program has necessary evaluation records in his/her permanent folder. Furnishing the principal with current exceptional student schedules. Completing progress reports on each student in the program. Supplying progress reports to school personnel and to parents of exceptional students as necessary and requested. Completing appropriate reports for local, state, federal and educational agencies. Referring those students who require further evaluation or follow-up services to the appropriate school personnel or community agencies. Compiles information from a variety of sources (e.g. administrators, teachers, nurse, parents, mental health agencies, other professionals, etc.) for the purpose of producing a comprehensive screening/evaluation report in compliance with established guidelines. Consults with teachers, parents, and/or other outside personnel or professionals for the purpose of providing requested information, developing plans for services and/or making recommendations. Participates in meetings, workshops and seminars as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions. Collaborate/consult with individual teachers regarding speech/language concerns about students. Assist the teacher in establishing programs and/or classroom modifications to accommodate the learning needs of their students. Teach individual parents or organize group presentations on specific strategies or techniques to assist the parent in the successful management of their child. Researches resources and methods (e.g. intervention, assessment tools and methods, community resources, etc.) for the purpose of determining the appropriate approach for addressing students' goals. Other responsibilities related to the position as assigned by the Director of Special Education and Management Company.
Requirements:
Requirements:
Master's degree in job related field; Speech/Language Pathologist License; Experience in an educational organization with focus on improving student performance and outcomes; Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with teachers/ staff/community; and Satisfactory completion of local, state, and federal criminal history check. Must hold an Ohio Department of Education and Workforce Pupil Service License.
