A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Speech Therapist LiveWell Homecare Agency Portland, OR Job Details Part-time 5 hours ago Qualifications Master's degree in speech-language pathology (SLP) Master's degree Speech-Language Pathology License Full Job Description We are seeking a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist to provide evaluation, treatment, and education for residents with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders in a skilled nursing setting. Evaluate, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans for residents. Conduct swallowing assessments and recommend dietary textures. Provide direct therapy, document progress, and modify treatments as needed. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care. Educate residents, families, and staff on communication and swallowing strategies. Supervise assistants and students; maintain compliance with regulations. Requirements include a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, a valid state license, and preferred CCC-SLP certification. Experience in geriatrics or skilled nursing is advantageous.
