Job Description
Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A School Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) opportunity is available in Berkeley, CA. This contract position offers the chance to work within a supportive school environment, providing essential speech therapy assistance across a caseload of approximately 55 students. The assignment runs through the end of the school year (June 5) with potential for limited Extended School Year (ESY) work.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver speech-language pathology support under supervision Complete and finalize Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Manage and maintain a caseload of around 55 students Work onsite 3-5 days per week, following the school schedule from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break Coordinate with supervisors to ensure therapy is consistent with educational goalsDesired Qualifications:
Experience or certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a school setting Ability to work under supervision, with arrangements for supervision costs covered Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a sizable caseload Reliable availability during school hours with some flexibility for possible ESY sessions Commitment to supporting students' communication development in an educational environment This contract opportunity provides a structured schedule and the chance to contribute meaningfully to student progress during the school year.
