In this vital role, you will ensure the safe, efficient, and sterile preparation of surgical instruments and equipment used in patient care. Your expertise will help maintain the highest standards of infection prevention and control, supporting healthcare providers in delivering exceptional patient outcomes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills in a fast-paced environment dedicated to healthcare excellence. Responsibilities Perform sterilization, decontamination, and reprocessing of surgical instruments, according to AORN and AAMI standards. Assemble, inspect, and package sterile medical instruments with precision to ensure readiness for surgical procedures Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies and medical equipment, ensuring accurate tracking and timely replenishment Operate specialized sterilization equipment and medical devices safely and effectively, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and hospital policies Conduct thorough cleaning, disinfection, inspection, and storage in compliance with regulatory standards Maintain detailed documentation of sterilization cycles, decontamination processes, and equipment maintenance logs Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure all sterile processing needs are met efficiently, and that all surgeons have the instruments they need ready for surgery. Skills Extensive knowledge of sterile processing procedures, including surgical instrument sterilization and handling Proficiency in inventory management systems for tracking supplies and equipment Strong understanding of AORN and AAMI standards as it pertains to SPD. Experienced in the use of IFUs to determine the sterilization requirements of instruments. Expertise in infection prevention management and healthcare infection control practices Ability to demonstrate excellent aseptic technique and attention to detail during all stages of sterilization Experience with infection control standards related to surgical instrument sterilization, decontamination, and endoscope reprocessing This role is ideal for motivated professionals eager to contribute to a safe healing environment. •Must have experience in an ambulatory surgical center environment. Must be reliable. This position is 5 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday.
Pay:
$26.83 - $32.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
