Job Summary People Integra is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) to support a hospital-based sterile processing department in Columbus, Ohio. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in surgical instrument processing, decontamination, sterilization, instrument assembly, inspection, and operating room support. This position plays an important role in patient safety by ensuring surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, inspected, and available for procedures. Responsibilities Clean, decontaminate, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment. Assemble, inspect, package, label, and prepare surgical instrument trays. Perform flexible endoscope and medical device reprocessing according to hospital and manufacturer guidelines. Operate steam sterilizers and other sterilization equipment, including STERRAD when applicable. Maintain accurate sterilization, instrument tracking, quality assurance, and inventory records. Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, damage, and proper condition. Prepare case carts and support operating room and surgical services teams. Maintain sterile supply and instrument inventory and assist with replenishment. Follow infection prevention, aseptic technique, safety, and quality standards. Prevent cross-contamination by following proper decontamination and medical device reprocessing procedures. Follow hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and department procedures. Work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment. Required Qualifications At least 3 years of recent Sterile Processing Technician experience. At least 2 years of hospital sterile processing experience. At least 2 years of Level II Trauma experience. Active CRCST certification is required. Hands-on experience with instrument decontamination, assembly, sterilization, inspection, and packaging. Knowledge of infection prevention and sterile processing standards. Ability to work independently and as part of a surgical services team. Willingness to work assigned day, evening, or night shifts. Ability to work in person in Columbus, Ohio. Preferred Experience Surgical instrument tray assembly. Flexible endoscope reprocessing. Steam sterilization. STERRAD sterilization. Instrument tracking systems. Case cart preparation. Operating room support. Surgical services. Medical device reprocessing. Central sterile or central service department experience.
