The ideal candidate will support periodontal and surgical procedures, ensuring optimal patient care and maintaining a sterile environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, equipment, and infection control practices, along with experience in patient management and dental radiography. Prior experience in a periodontal setting is preferred, with 1-2 years of relevant dental experience being ideal. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting our clinicians during complex procedures while providing compassionate care to our patients. Responsibilities Assist the dental team during periodontal and surgical procedures, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterile. Perform dental x-rays accurately and efficiently, adhering to safety protocols. Maintain strict sterilization procedures for all dental equipment and instruments to prevent healthcare-associated infections. Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and ensuring patient comfort throughout visits. Manage patient information using dental patient management software, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Implement infection prevention measures in accordance with healthcare standards to promote a safe clinical environment. Support the team with general dental duties including charting, preparing treatment areas, and assisting with post-operative care instructions. Stay updated on current dental terminology, equipment usage, and infection control practices relevant to periodontal surgery. Skills Proven experience in a dental clinic setting, preferably with exposure to periodontal procedures. Knowledge of dental x-ray techniques and safety protocols. Familiarity with dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management. Strong understanding of dental terminology and familiarity with various dental equipment used in periodontal surgery. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to manage patient concerns compassionately. Proficiency in using patient management software for scheduling, record-keeping, and documentation purposes. Attention to detail in maintaining sterile environments and adhering to infection control standards. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced clinical setting.
