Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Certified Surgical Assistant for a 13 week Travel Assignment. In this vital role, you will work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe surgical procedures across a variety of specialties. Your expertise will directly contribute to delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your clinical skills in a hospital setting, supporting complex surgeries and patient recovery processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for healthcare excellence, possess strong technical proficiency, and thrive under pressure. Pay will be 25 an hour and 1800 weekly per diem total $2800.00 Responsibilities Assist surgeons during operative procedures by preparing the sterile field, passing instruments, and managing surgical supplies with precision and aseptic technique. Maintain a thorough understanding of surgical anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to anticipate the needs of the surgical team. Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized, functioning correctly, and ready for use in accordance with infection control protocols. Support patient care before, during, and after surgery by monitoring vital signs, assessing patient status, and assisting with discharge planning when appropriate. Document detailed medical records including operative reports, patient data, and procedural notes within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems accurately and efficiently. Uphold strict infection control standards through proper aseptic techniques and adherence to hospital policies to prevent cross-contamination or infection spread. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by analyzing clinical data related to patient outcomes and procedural efficiency. Skills Skilled in suturing techniques and handling various surgical instruments with precision. Ability to interpret vital signs accurately and respond swiftly during emergencies or critical situations. Knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques necessary for maintaining a sterile environment. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications like Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are advantageous.
