1 Description American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) to support a hospital surgical services team across all service lines, including total joints, with a willingness to scrub as needed. Details Hospital-based surgical services unit All surgical service lines supported, including total joints Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM Epic EMR used Requirements Completion of a Surgical Assistant program accredited by CAAHEP or ABSA required
Preferred:
Associate's degree in Surgical Technology, military training, or 5+ years of experience in lieu of a degree CPR certification required Epic experience required Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible License required if applicable Additional Information Collaborate directly with the surgeon to perform operative procedures safely and with optimal patient outcomes Provide assistance to RNs, anesthesia staff, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals Participate in complex surgical cases and quality improvement (PI) projects Assist with orientation and training of new team members Responsible for maintaining continuing education requirements Works under the license and direct supervision of the attending surgeon Every other holiday coverage is expected All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration — no RTO will be added after an offer is made, and approval is at the manager's discretion
