Job Summary:

Provides assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures across all age groups, ensuring patient safety and effective operation setup.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in treatment coordination and provide basic patient support. Connect patients to clinical equipment and practice aseptic techniques during surgery preparation. Participate in surgical briefings, verify surgical site, and maintain accurate supply and specimen documentation. Manage wound care, sterile dressing changes, and disposal of sharps and linens. Follow universal precautions, initiate emergency procedures, and support admission/discharge processes. Perform billing, participate in on-call rotations, and act as a preceptor for students. Adhere to policies, perform quality control, and handle additional duties like specimen collection and patient transport.

Qualifications & Skills:

Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or eligible under applicable law. Graduate from a specialized training program. Strong adherence to safety, sterile techniques, and team collaboration. This role is typically performed in a clinical setting, requiring compliance with organizational policies and standards of care. The position involves rotating shifts, on-call duties, and working weekends and holidays as part of the team.
