Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, provides technical assistance during surgical procedures utilizing sterile technique to ensure quality patient care and safety. Provides direct and indirect care for the pediatric to geriatric populations in the hospital setting. Qualifications Student Surgical Technologist High School Diploma or GED required. Current enrollment in accredited Surgical Technology Program with completion of first and second semesters Surgical Technology courses required. Student Scholar Surgical Technologist High school diploma or GED equivalency required. Enrolled in a twenty-four (24) month course of study in Surgical Technology at Tri County Technical College. Must sign "Education Advance and Employment Retention Agreement." Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher. Must achieve a grade of "C" or above in each general studies course. Must achieve a grade of "B" or above in surgical technology courses.
