Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. This vital role involves supporting cardiovascular surgical procedures within a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in surgical assistance, cardiovascular surgery, trauma care, and critical care settings. As a CVOR Technologist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and quality of patient care during complex surgical interventions. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our mission of delivering exceptional healthcare services in a state-of-the-art facility. Responsibilities Prepare and maintain the sterile field for cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Assist surgeons during procedures by handling surgical instruments, suturing, and managing specialized medical equipment. Collect and document patient data such as vital signs, physiological responses, and intraoperative observations accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support the operation of medical equipment including sterilization processes, endoscopy tools, and cardiovascular monitoring devices. Provide comprehensive patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures, including monitoring vital signs and responding promptly to physiological changes. Assist with the treatment of fractures, trauma management, and orthopedic surgeries by providing specialized support within the operating room. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including anesthesiologists, nurses, and surgeons to ensure seamless surgical workflows and optimal patient outcomes. Maintain detailed medical records in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards such as Epic EMR systems. Participate in hospital infection prevention initiatives by adhering to strict sterilization procedures and infection control practices. Support pediatric, neurosurgical, and ambulatory surgery cases with specialized knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and surgical techniques.

Contract Length:

13-26 Weeks.

Shift:

6:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Perform decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, and sterilization of surgical instruments and trays. Operate sterilization and High-Level Disinfection (HLD) equipment following established procedures. Maintain sterilization records and perform quality assurance checks. Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and facility protocols. Float to the Main OR when CVOR volume is low, if required by the facility.

On-call required:

Minimum 2 call days per week and 1-2 weekends every 6 weeks based on unit needs.

Must Haves:

Minimum of 3 years of Sterile Processing Technician experience. Experience working in a 500+ bed hospital. Minimum of 6 months of travel assignment experience. Certified Sterile Processor (HSPA or CBSPD). Ability to provide 2 professional references from the most recent assignments/employers. First-time travelers will not be accepted.

Certifications Required:

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. Active Certified Sterile Processor Certification (HSPA or CBSPD).

Preferred Qualifications:

Level I Trauma Center experience. Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) Certification. Orthopedic tray experience.
