A Telemetry Technician operates EKG (electrocardiogram) equipment to monitor heart activity in a patient. Works closely with cardiologists to diagnose cardiovascular conditions and problems.
Non-licensed person responsible for continuously observing and interpreting patients' cardiac rhythms (EKG/ECG) and ensuring appropriate and timely alerts / responses to any alarms. Maintains and reports data in a timely manner. Assists in various clerical and communication functions on the nursing unit. Must be knowledgeable of the policies and procedures of the unit & health system.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
High School graduate or equivalent. Previous monitor tech experience preferred.
