New Grads welcome! Copper Mountain Animal Hospital in sunny Chandler, Arizona is looking for an associate veterinarian to be part of our small animal practice! We are a privately owned, non-corporate practice equipped with a full range of equipment and diagnostics. Our amazing team allows us to provide the best care for our patients and dedication to our clients. We offer a four-day work week with no after-hours/on-call duty to help maintain a healthy work/life balance, and a strong and supportive atmosphere for better stress management at work. We look forward to hearing from you Responsibilities Examine animals and assess their health status Diagnose illnesses and determine the best treatment Be able to clearly communicate with owners to present treatment options and medical advice Perform routine dental and soft tissue surgeries Vaccinate animals to prevent diseases Spay and neuter cats and dogs as needed Prescribe medication Advise pet owners on nutrition, preventive healthcare and general care Update client records Skills Dedication to fulfilling the role of an associate veterinarian in a small animal setting Comfort performing complete physical exams as well as various types of surgeries and routine procedures General knowledge of diagnostics and interpretation including routine cytology, radiology, and labwork Problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain medical terms and conditions using simple language Willingness to assist with client and staff education Team based practice of medicine and a deep compassion for animals Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree
