Our vision matches the playful spirit and determination of the owner's beloved little therapy dog. At the center of everything we do is the memory and dedication to their beloved Freddie. A little dog who loved to play with his red ball, he loved everyone and carried an endless supply of empathy and compassion. Our motto "Keep the Ball Rolling" is a callback to Freddie's favorite red ball. It reminds us to always give our best, always with compassion and care for those who choose to trust us when they need help the most. That is the legacy and hope that created Freddie's Place. We opened the doors to Freddie's Place Animal Hospital & Urgent Care in 2023 with the vision of providing gold standard care at a fair cost. Being financially ethical across the board and helping animals & their parents is very important to us. Family owned and operated, Freddie's Place is a hybrid: Urgent Care & General Practice Veterinary Hospital that services the North County area of San Diego, in Vista and soon to open in Oceanside. We operate on a "walk in basis" for cases ranging from routine to Urgent Care. We are looking to hire veterinarians currently for both locations.

WHAT YOU NEED

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine DVM/VMD or related degree from an accredited university
• Licensure in good standing to practice in California
• Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding veterinary code of ethics
• Strongly preferred or 3+ years of experience specifically in general practice, Urgent Care, or ERCC.
• Stays current on new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine

Dental:

Radiograph Interpretation, Extractions Strongly Preferred

• DEA Certification
• Basic computer skills, medical record keeping
• Strong skills in anesthesia, diagnostics, lab work, and patient monitoring
• Provide information in person & over the phone communicating clearly, appropriately & professionally
• Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, work on the floor as well as ability to lift 25kg on own and able to support up to 50 kg with assistance.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO

• Builds rapport with clients by gathering information and listening to, and empathizing with their concerns
• Performs physical examination and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures that deliver the highest quality of care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort
• Communicates with clients on topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, preventative health care and nutritional needs
• Be trained to properly perform all aspects of CPR as a RECOVER Certified Rescuer
• Participate in giving and receiving patient rounds to ensure continuity of care
• Contribute as a team member to incoming outpatient care and ongoing inpatient care
• Set-Up, monitor, and administer IVF therapy including CRI
• Administer

SQF, IM, IV

injections & understand potential adverse effects of medications

• Use understanding of common diseases and conditions, physical assessment & monitoring parameters to accurately triage incoming patients
• Coach & guide veterinary support staff to perform clinical tasks to maintain standards of care and encourage growth. Collaborate & share knowledge w/ team to ensure optimal patient care
• Aid in managing patient care workload to ensure the patients are receiving uncompromised care
• Conduct treatments using clinical decision-making skills according to protocol/SOP's
