South Sioux Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join our growing, privately owned practice in South Sioux City, Nebraska. Unlike corporate or private equity-owned practices, we focus on high-quality medicine, professional autonomy, and long-term client relationships. Our veterinarians practice progressive companion animal medicine while receiving the support, resources, and collaboration needed to continue growing as a clinician. Our hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities, including: Digital radiography Dental X-ray Ultrasound Full in-house laboratory (VetScan VS2; VetScan Opticell; Imagyst) Phovia Light Therapeutic Laser Electronic medical records (AVImark) What You'll Do Provide high-quality medical care, diagnostics, and treatment for companion animals Perform routine and complex medical examinations and develop treatment plans Perform soft tissue surgery and dental procedures (orthopedic procedures based on experience) Prescribe medications and recommend preventive care protocols Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care Collaborate closely with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure excellent patient outcomes Maintain accurate medical records within AVImark Contribute to a positive, team-oriented practice culture Stay current on veterinary best practices and continuing education Education & Licensure Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) from an accredited veterinary school Licensed or eligible for licensure in Nebraska (within 60 days of start date) Experience, Fit & Training Experienced veterinarians and new graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply Structured mentorship available Compensation is commensurate with experience and skill level Strong interest in practicing high-quality medicine and developing long-term client relationships Positive, collaborative approach to patient care and teamwork Skills & Competencies Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail AVImark experience preferred but not required Benefits Competitive salary: $90,000 - $110,000 DOE Sign-on bonus Health insurance provided after 60 days (premium paid by South Sioux Animal Hospital) 401(k) with employer match after one year Three weeks paid vacation annually Continuing education allowance and paid CE time Professional liability coverage Disability insurance AVMA membership provided Professional licensure and membership support Discounted pet care for employee-owned pets after 60 days About the Opportunity This position is based in South Sioux City, Nebraska , part of the Siouxland metropolitan area with a population of approximately 170,000.
