A Veterinarian provides medical care to animals. Diagnoses and treats illnesses and injuries. Specializes in treating either pets and small domesticated animals, or large animals and livestock, or wild animals. May work on farms, in zoos and wildlife sanctuaries, in animal shelters, or in hospitals or clinics that specialize in caring for animals. May inspect livestock used for food and check compliance with food safety regulations, or work in laboratories doing clinical research on animal and human diseases.

Job Description Want the depth and support of a 24/7 hospital while keeping your focus and work/life balance rooted in GP medicine? Animal Medical Center of Plainfield is a modern, high-volume GP/ER hospital located just south of Naperville, built for comprehensive care under one roof. Here, our GP doctors can focus on wellness, preventive care, medical workups, dentistry, and scheduled appointments while still having an in-hospital ER team nearby when urgent or complex cases call for collaboration.
The Opportunity:
A GP-only role inside a 24/7 hospital, with emergency support available in-house. Practice top-tier general medicine with access to advanced diagnostics, surgery, dentistry, and hospitalization resources. Partner with an in-hospital ER team while keeping your primary focus on scheduled GP care. Join a supportive, flexible, large DVM team where work/life balance is a stated priority. At least 3-5 years of DVM experience in a small animal GP setting is required for this role.
The Resources:
21 veterinarians on team in a 24-hour-capable hospital. 20 exam rooms and a state-of-the-art medical complex built in 2023. Two surgical suites for general surgery, orthopedics, and emergency surgery. Double dental suite with digital dental x-ray. Large in-house laboratory, digital x-ray, abdominal ultrasound, and echocardiogram options. Canine and feline ICU spaces, with separate isolation options for disease management.

Compensation & Benefits:
Starting base salary range: $130,000
  • $150,000.
Quarterly production bonuses with no negative accrual. 401(k) with company match . Access to CE courses (dentistry, ultrasound, surgery, and more) at NVA's nearby PetOne Training Center in Addison, IL. Professional liability coverage, DEA and state licensing, and VIN membership. PTO, paid CE, and CE/licensing reimbursement. Generous staff pet discounts. Final compensation commensurate with experience, skills, schedule, and scope of services provided.
