HIGH SCHOOL ASSISTANT GIRLS BASKETBALL COACH

Summary Filer High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our athletic department as a Full-Time Assistant Girls Basketball Coach. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Head Coach to develop and enhance the skills of our student-athletes while fostering a positive and competitive team environment. This position requires strong communication skills, a commitment to student development, and a deep understanding of the game of basketball. Responsibilities Assist the Head Coach in planning and implementing daily practice sessions, game strategies, and player development programs. Provide instruction and feedback to student-athletes on fundamental skills, techniques, and game strategies. Help recruit and evaluate prospective student-athletes to build a competitive team. Maintain a positive and respectful team culture that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth. Collaborate with school administration, parents, and the community to support the girls basketball program. Monitor the academic progress and well-being of student-athletes, ensuring they meet eligibility requirements. Assist in organizing and conducting team meetings, fundraising activities, and community outreach events. Attend all practices, games, and team events, providing support and guidance to players and coaching staff. Stay updated on basketball coaching techniques, rules, and regulations to ensure compliance with school and league policies. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field preferred. Previous coaching experience at the high school level or higher, particularly with girls basketball, is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to achieve their best both on and off the court. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all team members. CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required for practices and games. Ability to pass a background check and meet any other school district requirements.
