MIDDLE SCHOOL SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER

Job Summary Filer Middle School is seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team as a full-time Social Studies Teacher. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore historical events, cultural diversity, and civic responsibility while fostering critical thinking and analytical skills. This position requires a commitment to creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment that accommodates diverse learning styles and promotes a love for social studies. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum guidelines. Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and resources to meet the needs of all learners. Assess and evaluate student progress through formal and informal assessments, providing timely feedback. Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration. Foster critical thinking and discussion among students regarding historical events and current issues. Integrate technology into the classroom to enhance learning experiences. Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and parents to support student success and address any concerns. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and social studies content. Uphold school policies and procedures while promoting a culture of respect and responsibility among students. Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other school activities as needed. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Studies, History, or a related field. Valid teaching certification in Social Studies for middle school education. Strong knowledge of social studies curriculum and educational standards. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students and foster a supportive learning environment. Experience working with middle school students preferred. Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs. Proficiency in using educational technology and digital resources to enhance instruction. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Commitment to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning.
