About the Kitchen deske is a European-inspired patisserie focused on seasonal pastries, viennoiserie, and artisan chocolates made with ingredients sourced from farmers and producers throughout the Columbia River Gorge.
Our pastry program blends classic European technique with modern seasonal creativity. The menu evolves frequently based on what local farms and orchards are producing, giving our team the opportunity to work closely with exceptional ingredients while continuing to refine their craft.
We are a small, focused kitchen that values precision, consistency, and curiosity. Our goal is to create an environment where pastry professionals can pursue excellent work while maintaining a sustainable lifestyle outside the kitchen.

The RoleThis position focuses on executing our pastry program with precision while contributing to the continued evolution of our seasonal menu.
Responsibilities include:
Preparing European-style pastries and dessertsExecuting recipes with consistency and attention to detailMaintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchenSupporting production planning and inventory managementAssisting with seasonal menu development and new pastry ideasCan be a part-time positionA Day in the Life at deskeThroughout the day the team works through a variety of production tasks tempering chocolate, assembling seasonal desserts, or preparing components for upcoming menu changes. Because we are a small team, everyone contributes to maintaining an organized kitchen and ensuring each product meets our standards before it reaches the case.
While the pace can be focused, the environment allows time to work thoughtfully with ingredients and technique. Many members of our team appreciate the opportunity to practice their craft in a kitchen that values both quality and sustainability.
