Job Description
We are looking for a baker to join our team! This position begins at 4 a.m. and runs until 12 p.m. Thursday to Monday. Weekends are required.
The ideal candidate has early morning baking experience, including an understanding of and enthusiasm for laminated items, and is ready to think critically about the bake, making adjustments as needed to achieve the best product. We consider ourselves lifelong learners. People who fit on our team operate with the mindset that we are always striving to do our best job. This requires a personality that not only accepts change but actually sees the benefit of flexibility. Personalities open to feedback tend to be a better fit.
Primary responsibilities include organizing, performing, and completing the morning bake for the retail counter.
Secondary responsibilities include prep work, such as preparing fillings and frostings, mixing and/or portioning batters and supporting other bakers in production. To keep the workspace organized, general maintenance includes cleaning, hand or machine dishwashing, and managing trash and recycling.
Ideal candidates work with method, precision, and strong attention to detail. Previous kitchen experience is necessary, as is standing for 5-8 hour shifts and lifting 25 pounds in a fast paced environment. We are looking for someone who aligns with our values of kindness, clear communication, and a positive work ethic.
