Lead Cake Decorator
Job Description
Bring Beautiful Cakes to LifeAt Trophy, cake decorators are artists. With practiced hands, a great eye, and a few simple tools, they turn buttercream and cake into joy. We re looking for an experienced Lead Cake Decorator to help shape the next chapter of our cake program. Someone who loves the craft, has serious technical skills, works with speed and confidence, and gets excited about helping other decorators grow.
This isn t an entry-level decorating role. We re looking for someone who already knows their way around a cake ~ filling, stacking, frosting, piping, flowers, borders, lettering, buttercream work, and beautiful finishes. You may have learned your craft in an independent bakery, grocery bakery, specialty cake shop, or somewhere completely different. Where you learned matters less than what you can do and the pride you take in doing it well. If you re the decorator other people watch because you make it look easy, we d love to meet you.
What You ll BringArtistry + Technical SkillYou have a strong eye for color, proportion, texture, and detail ~ and the technical skills to bring an idea to life beautifully.
Speed + ConsistencyYou understand production decorating. You can make beautiful cakes efficiently and consistently, even when the production schedule is full.
Creative Problem SolvingGive you a photo, sample, or idea and you can figure out how to make it happen. Even better, you can help us figure out how to make it beautifully again and again.
Leadership Through CraftYou love sharing what you know. You can demonstrate techniques, coach other decorators, give helpful feedback, and help raise the bar for the whole team.
What You ll DoFill, stack, frost, decorate, and finish beautiful cakesExecute both classic and intricate designsWork confidently with piping bags, tips, flowers, lettering, and decorative finishesProduce cakes efficiently in a high-volume bakeryRecreate designs from photos, samples, and build guidesPartner with our creative team on new cakes and R DHelp turn creative ideas into designs our team can produce consistently and efficientlyTrain and coach other decorators on technique, quality, speed, and workflowHelp maintain Trophy s standards for beautiful, joyful, high-quality cakesKeep your workspace clean, organized, and ready to createWe d Love to Meet You If...You have 2+ years of professional cake decorating experienceYou have advanced piping and cake-finishing skillsYou ve worked in a bakery, grocery bakery, cake shop, or other production environmentYou re comfortable working quickly without sacrificing qualityYou genuinely love the craft of cake decoratingYou enjoy teaching and helping others get betterYou re creative, collaborative, dependable, and proud of your workYou have (or can obtain) a Washington State Food Worker CardQualified candidates will be invited to show us their decorating skills during the interview process.
