Tips Job Summary :
We are seeking for a Barista with high energy and exceptional customer service to join our team at Bonsai Coffee Bar. Co-founded by two first-gen Asian Americans, our concept is to serve a mix of traditional and Asian-inspired drinks and pastries in a modern, spacious coffee shop in West LA. You will be responsible for providing excellent customer experience by preparing and serving a variety of beverages and food items. You will also handle payment transactions, take customer orders, and maintain a clean and organized workspace. The ideal candidate should have a passion for coffee, matcha, hospitality, and strong multitasking skills.
Requirements:
Prior customer service experience is preferred. Attention to detail is a must. Must have can-do efficient work ethic, ability to adapt to change, and coachable. Prior barista experience (dialing in, pulling shots, steaming milk) is preferred, but not required. Must have either opening (6:45am start) or closing (9pm end) shift availability. At least one weekend day will be required. Must be able to prepare and serve drinks on the menu following exact recipes and instructions. Must know how to craft latte art. You will be trained if no prior knowledge. Food Handler Certification is required before starting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers and team members. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple orders simultaneously. High school diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities :
Prepare and serve a variety of beverages and food items according to established recipes and standards. Greet customers, take their orders, and provide recommendations based on their preferences. Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the coffee shop, including the cashier counter, seating areas, and beverage preparation areas. Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and brewing methods to answer customer questions. Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the health and safety of customers. Assist with opening and closing duties, including cash register reconciliation, cleaning, and restocking. Job responsibilities can change according to the operational needs of the business.
