The Head Barista will support and guide the barista team, maintain beverage quality and service standards, assist with training, monitor coffee and supply inventory, and help ensure an efficient café workflow. Key Responsibilities Lead daily coffee-bar operations and maintain smooth service Prepare espresso, brewed coffee, specialty beverages, and other café drinks to established standards Dial in espresso and adjust grind settings to maintain consistent extraction and beverage quality Train, coach, and support baristas on beverage preparation and service procedures Ensure recipes, portion standards, presentation, and quality expectations are consistently followed Welcome guests and provide friendly, knowledgeable service Answer questions about coffee, beverages, and menu items Operate the POS system and process payments accurately Monitor coffee beans, milk, syrups, ingredients, cups, and other café supplies Assist with inventory counts, ordering, receiving, and proper product storage Maintain espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other coffee equipment Keep the coffee bar, counters, equipment, and service areas clean and organized Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures Coordinate workflow and station assignments during busy service periods Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and daily café procedures Address guest requests and service concerns professionally Communicate operational needs and equipment or inventory issues to management Perform other duties assigned by café management Requirements Previous barista experience with strong espresso and coffee preparation knowledge Previous lead barista, senior barista, or café leadership experience preferred Strong understanding of espresso preparation, extraction, and coffee brewing Ability to train and support other baristas effectively Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills Excellent attention to beverage quality and detail Experience with POS systems and cash handling Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced café environment Reliable attendance and professional work ethic Good organizational and time-management skills Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods Benefits Competitive hourly pay Tips where applicable Flexible scheduling options Employee coffee or café discounts may be available Paid training and development opportunities Supportive and team-oriented work environment Opportunities for professional growth and advancement About the Company Bohemia Cafe is committed to creating a welcoming café environment centered around quality coffee, carefully prepared beverages, friendly hospitality, and consistent service.
