The Lead Barista will prepare coffee and tea beverages, support team members, assist with training, maintain café equipment, and help coordinate efficient service during busy periods. The ideal candidate has strong barista experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead by example while creating a welcoming café environment. Key Responsibilities Welcome guests warmly and provide friendly, professional service Prepare espresso, coffee, tea, specialty beverages, and café drinks according to established standards Maintain consistent beverage quality, presentation, and portion standards Operate espresso machines, grinders, brewers, tea equipment, and other café equipment safely Assist guests with menu questions and beverage selections Operate the POS system and process cash, card, and other payments accurately Support and coach baristas and café team members during service Assist with training new team members on beverage preparation, recipes, and café procedures Monitor workflow and help coordinate service during busy periods Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked coffee and tea bar Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, counters, and workstations Monitor coffee, tea, milk, syrups, cups, food items, and other supplies Report inventory needs and equipment concerns to management Assist with opening, closing, and daily café cleaning procedures Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures Handle guest requests and concerns in a polite and professional manner Help maintain café service standards and team efficiency Perform additional duties assigned by café management Requirements Previous barista or café experience with strong knowledge of coffee and tea preparation Lead barista, shift lead, or supervisory experience preferred Strong understanding of espresso preparation and beverage service Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills Ability to support, train, and guide other team members Strong attention to detail and beverage quality Basic POS and cash-handling experience Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced café environment Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine café duties Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays Benefits Competitive hourly pay Tips where applicable Flexible scheduling options Barista and beverage training opportunities Employee coffee or café discounts may be available Paid time off for eligible employees Supportive and team-oriented work environment Opportunities for professional growth and advancement About the Company rōk Coffee and Tea - Olympic Blvd is focused on quality coffee, tea, specialty beverages, friendly hospitality, and efficient café service.
