Job Description
Sunwell is a new, family-owned smoothie and coffee shop opening in Bellevue, WA. We're building a space centered around great drinks, thoughtful ingredients, and genuine hospitality, a place where our community can slow down, recharge, and enjoy a little more sunshine in their day.
As we prepare to open our doors, we're looking for a Full-Time Barista to join our founding team!
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people, takes pride in making a great drink, and is excited to help shape the culture of a brand-new cafe. You'll work across our coffee and beverage program, welcome guests into the space, and help keep Sunwell running smoothly each day.
What You'll DoPrepare and serve espresso drinks, coffee, matcha, and other Sunwell beverages with consistency and careProvide warm, attentive, and welcoming service to every guestLearn our menu, ingredients, recipes, and preparation standardsMaintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar and cafeHelp with opening, closing, restocking, and daily cleaning responsibilities, including washing dishes, cleaning, restocking, and keeping work areas organizedFollow food safety and sanitation standardsWork efficiently and calmly during busy service periodsSupport other cafe stations and teammates as neededHelp us create the kind of environment that turns first-time visitors into regularsNaturally attentive to customer preferences and small details, with a genuine desire to build relationships, remember returning guests, and create experiences that keep customers coming backWhat We're Looking ForPrevious barista, specialty coffee, cafe, or high-volume food service experience preferredFamiliarity with espresso preparation and latte art is a plusExcellent communication and customer service skillsReliable, punctual, and comfortable working independentlyPositive attitude and willingness to work as part of a small teamStrong attention to detailDesire to learn and openness to coaching and constructive feedbackAbility to stay organized and work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentScheduling flexibility, including weekend availabilityValid Washington Food Worker Card, or ability to obtain oneAbility to stand and walk for extended periods and lift/carry up to 25 lbsMost importantly, we're looking for someone who takes pride in what they do. You don't need to know everything on day one, but you should be curious, dependable, eager to learn, and excited to help us build something special from the beginning.
